Travel through uk to Denmark

    Hi

Im looking to book flights to Denmark from Ireland however this entails connecting flights in Stanstead. (They will be booked as two seperate flights as with Ryanair, Kerry to Stanstead and flight 2 Stanstead to Denmark). It will be two seperate flights coming back too.

On the website it states "You must pass through security and passport control during each connection and you will need a visa if your connection is in a country that requires one."

Would anyone know if we need a visa when flying from the Uk to Denmark as Uk not in Eu anymore especially when the two flights are booked toatally seperately?

and also the return from Denmark to UK?

    Thanks

If you are an Irish citizen you do not need a visa for any country in the Eurozone. The fact that you are flying via UK is irrelevant.

You do not need a visa to enter uk from Denmark, provided you are EU citizen.

Keep in mind that if you miss your connection the cost of rebooking will be on you as Ryanair don’t really do connections in the same way as other airlines do. Give yourself plenty of time. If you're an Irish citizen you don't need any visas to enter the UK or Denmark.

Leave plenty of time to walk out of stansted and back through security, I usually get the fast pass when I connect there

Just be mindful that security screening / passport control at Stansted can be a nightmare so allow yourself a LOT of time between those flights… considering … You have to make your way landside too and back again…

We are flying to Stanstead then 3 hr layover before flying to Faro.

Flight will be a Monday afternoon.

Do you think 3 Hrs is enough to get through security and back through again?

We will have small carry on bags no bigs bags checked through.

As long as the inbound is on time or close to it that’s ok…

Doing connections with Ryanair is dangerous. Particlarly so if the flight is more than 3 months away. That's because RyanAir often change their flight times around. There was a time when I was flying every month with RyanAir, and would have flights booked 6-7 months in advance. Almost all got their flight times changes.

Sometimes it was only 5 minutes, sometimes the day was changed! It wan't unheard of for a morning flight to become an evening flight and vise versa.

So be aware what's a 3 hour gap night could end up with your Kerry to Stansted flight arriving in Standsted after your Stansted to Denmark flight departs, with no comeback on Ryanair (because they don't do connections). It's a risky business using them for connections.

I'm stuck in the UK at the moment due to a Ryanair flight delay. There is at least 2 people on the flight who had 'connecting' Ryanair flights in Dublin. Poor feckers are out of pocket now for those flights and may need a hotel in Dublin for the night....if we ever get there. It's the risk you take I suppose.
