Is home insulation board (PU) similar to that used in surfboard blanks?

Is the density similar? Can it be planed?

Thinking of making a board this summer for the craic. Stringer too.

It’s a different lighter density and will turn yellow

it can be used but will need to be reinforced to hold up in any way

Cool appreciate the heads up 😀.

I was considering cutting a sheet of 8 x 4 / 4" Polystyrene/eps and trying epoxy resin. I'm making up a hot wire cutter to shape it.

The guys in Seabase.eu have blanks from 160 bob. They do kits and all the bits. I was weighing up the pros and cons.

    Thanks again.!
