Cheapest Breakfast Bargain ?

I had occasion to be in Dun Laoire this morning and was a bit peckish. Couldn’t find anywhere open at 8 but eventually stumbled upon The Forty Foot which opens at 8. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast and that came with two eggs( didn’t want the bacon), beans, sausage, black pudding, hash brown and toast. Also unlimited refills of tea or coffee. Served to the table by a very pleasant team leader whose name I neglected to get. All that for the grand sum of €6.70. Has to be the best bargain breakfast out there?? And yes I left the .30c as a tip 😂

Ennis in Clare, I always find the Sherwood as the place for a big but good value breakfast

The thing with Weatherspoons in Dun Laoighre is that you need to get there early to get decent service and freshly cooked food. The last couple of times I was there the wait times for food was 60 mins plus and the food was re-heated stodge. Very hard to get the attention of staff who seem overrun and stressed.

Hicks butchers on George's St in Dun Laoghaire have a stall set up outside selling sausage sandwiches and hot dogs for a reasonable price. Great food. And they're not run by Weatherspoons, either.

The restaurant in Sportslink near Dublin airport do fantastic fresh breakfasts. A regular fry of 2 sausages, 3 rashers, 3 white pudding, 3 black pudding, an egg and fried potatoes with tea/coffee and toast comes to €7. Three poached eggs with bacon, tea and toast comes to €6.

The local Tesco do a box of own brand coco pops for 90 cent. Pour in a pint of milk and eat direct from the box like a savage.

On a more serious note, IKEA breakfast is great value. Always looked forward to it any time I was out there early.

Well I had a very nice lunch there last week and breakfast with colleagues today. We're all still fine.

A bit unfair to be tarnishing a place with a second hand story from years ago, btw.

I went with herself a few years ago and got omellete with all the options at no extra cost and herself got the fry and said was grand (even now I just said do you remember it and stands by nothing wrong with it and she is fussy)

All I can see now is 13-14 for jumbo breakfast in most places, 8.50 here, its like any function room in a sports place and sure if you are not into smashed avacodo or fancy porridge etc, what more do you want

8.50 for a full breakfast is probably about as good as it gets in Dublin outside of Wetherspoons or Ikea. Their lunch menu is very cheap as well, lots of items there for 7-8 euro. Must check it out next time I am in Santry

Wetherspoons is OK, the breakfast wrap with cheese is nice, plus free coffee refils

IKEA i dont like because heres your food then you go queue/pay for it, then get your tea or coffee etc and its cold then again you sit down

Reviving an old thread. Dunnes Stores cafes do any 5 items plus tea/coffee and toast for €5.50 until 11:30. Has to be the best value breakfast ?

Used To go here, especially on the morning of Santa shop. The last two times was like a different place altogether. Such as shame as it was great value and convenient. Last time, I just got a sandwich from a garage deli. Will give it another go and hopefully will be like it was.

Got porridge trying to be healthy and be sick of fry

First time big big bowl plenty of strawberry and blueberries

Second time much smaller bowl no blueberry

Surely the staff are given instructions on portion size and what does and doesn't go into the dishes
