Edreams - No Booking Email received

    Hi all,

Trying to help a friend. They booked flights to New York with edreams but never received any email/booking confirmation. I have checked their email/spam folder, etc and nothing received. They checked with their bank and the money has been taken. I log into edreams and click Manage Booking and nothing booked. I have emailed them and they say they will reply within 24 hours but have not yet received a response. I’ve tried their online chat and UK customer service but for both without a bookie confirmation number I cannot get anywhere. So so frustrating. The thing is flights are now increasing in price. Where do they stand in all of this?

would really appreciate any advice at all on this. Thank you

They didn't actually make a booking - they 'requested' to make a booking. what usually happens with the likes of EDreams, is instead of sending booking confirmation, they come back and say the flights are no longer available at the price advertised.

Depending on when the request was made, I would immediately do a charge-back and book the flights with the airline directly, even if it costs a bit more. How much did they save with Edreams? Was baggage included? Seat selection ? When are these flights for and when did your friend 'book' ?

    >The thing is flights are now increasing in price.

whether the flight was available for the stated price by E-dreams in the first place is questionable. They have a known history of taking the cash and then footering about trying to find you a flight and then come back with something stupid and you have a hard time getting the cash back off them unless you do a chargeback.

If looking up flights on skyscanner the only reliable option is to book with the airline directly, or if theres some airline combination that is plausable but not coming up on the airline site like a good price on a codeshare with different airlines , you can contact a proper real life irish travel agent and ask them to go onto the system and book it for you for a little more than e-dreams .

Maybe expedia or travelocity can still be trusted, but opodo (which was brilliant at one stage and great for awkward connections) is now owned by edreams which is part of the reason that companys name sticks in my brain.

Thanks for all the replies. I’ve suggested to my friend to request the chargeback and hopefully he can recoup all of the money back. It’s terrible these sites such as edreams are allowed to continue operating in such circumstances. This person is a good age and I could just hear it in their voice when I told them to try get their money back was the best solution and like others have said floght prices are increasing and they were hoping for a response back from edreams because the money had been taken from their bank account and they didn’t respond to any of the emails sent. Poor poor service from edreams.

Sites such as EDreams and Kiwi.com will continue to exist as long as people book with them and believe in the Air Fare fairy. No offence to your friend, but if it's seems too good to be true, it usually is.

    >This person is a good age and I could just hear it in their voice ......

My parents in law (of a good age) flew abroad on Ryanair a couple of years ago and unbelievably booked it through some complete random website rather than direct through Ryanair.

Like.... How? I still havent figured that out. It surely is easier and more obvious to book Ryanair through Ryanair, but, obviously not.

Luckily in the end all worked out, even if they needed to have their boarding passes sent by email or something like that.
