Indesit Washer Dryer - can't / wont start the dryer only function

    Hello,

Any ideas why the dryer function isn't working? Anyone else with similar machine and same problems?

More info: Just moved into a rental property that has a washer dryer. Indesit IWDC65125. Ive never used one but its straight forward to use. I even downloaded the manual to make sure what I was doing was correct and even the landlady had a look and couldn't get the dryer function going. Ringing Indesit line was a waste of time, it didn't appear registered, and suggested a technician call out.

There are two separate programs to use just for drying (cottons/synthetics) and neither of them work. Wash program (30 mins) works fine (no drying). Going to try a different program to see if the drying function works at all.

Personally I think they're a disaster of an idea if you have a lot of washing to do but have to wait for the machine to dry the load first! Thank god for summer and clothes lines outside.

Any ideas what could be wrong, landlady said its a new machine.

    Thanks.

No idea of that particular model, but on my old washer-dryer there was a separate switch to select how dry you wanted the clothes. (with symbol of iron, cupboards, hanger). You had to select one of these symbols as well otherwise the drying did not start. Perhaps there is something similar on the Indesit?

Thanks for the reply. Same as on this indesit washer dryer. I've had the landlord check it and apparently on certain programs it will work. However the washer dryers in my opinion are useless versus seperate machines. This machine only took three large bath towels which were already line dry and just required softening. Well, after 20 mins they were damper and no softer before they went in, needless to say I won't be using the dryer in this machine. Useless.

If things get drastic I'll buy a separate dryer again to finish off clothes! Cheers for help anyway:-)
