Hi. I’m new to the mortgage game. In the process of applying for a Local Authority Home Loan (previously Rebuilding Ireland).

It says in the guide to send in your “original” passport or driving license. Does that mean the actual physical passport itself or a photoccopy of the original passport? Will I get the actual passport back if I send it in?

They will want the original document. they will take a copy and of course they return it.

Some places will allow for a certified copy (garda signature & stamp or solicitor's signature & stamp)
