    Not so sure the gangs have no control....we have a revolving door policy rather then building more spaces & locking up repeat offenders for longer.

    220 more spaces seems an excessively low target.

    what's the point in locking people away? they tried that in america and look how that turned out.

    We're not America for one & personally I'd like to see repeat offenders locked up for longer & not able to have the freedom to walk the streets to reoffend. (Particularly criminals that freely assault people multiple times giving a full 2 f**k to those of us that are law abiding)

    It should not be a choice between the US ‘3 strikes and you are out’ and our ‘100 strikes and a suspended or concurrent sentence’ approach.
