RTÉ Gold playlist

I listen a good deal to RTÉ Gold...probably being in my 20’s one of their younger ones.

I am disappointed that with the exception of the 70’s show on Saturdays and the Jazz with Rick on Sundays there is no 50’s or 60’s..

I should be able to hear The Beatles The Doors Elvis etc on a GOLD station - come on RTE!!

They do play more 60s stuff in the evenings with 20th century gold after 7pm but they don’t go down the Global route of dedicated hours to the 60s and 50s decades

People who remember 50s music as teenagers are now all over 75 and not really likely to land on a digital station.

That age group - the people who heard it as teenagers - are the core to any nostalgia market

I think doing the same with the "radio nova" thread and the "Radio Nova 100 - On Air Now" one from 2010 wouldn't do any harm either.

I heard 50s and 60s music in the oldies hours of radio in the 1980s so most of the bigger hits feel familiar to anyone growing up in the 80s

I want to make the case for us in our twenties and thirties who listen to RTE Gold...it broadcasts 24 hours a day and surely should have an hour a week of 50’s and 60’s.

In fairness it caters for 80’s and 90’s and Living in the 70’s seem very popular...

Listen to college students - there is a coolness about Beatles Everly Brothers Pink Floyd etc etc
