Have a 20172 Honda Jazz. PUrchased in Aug 21 and was serviced at the time. I had it checked out by a mechanic before I bought it. The note on the car from garage was the car should be next serviced Aug 22 or if it reached a certain mileage. In the last week or so the service reminder light is coming on so just wondering is that an automatic timed system that puts that reminder there that can be ignored or should I be hotfooting it to the nearest garage..? I was going to get a service in the summer anyway but surprised it needs one now.

    Thanks

Sounds like the garage didnt reset the service light properly. On Hondas theres different service reminders built into the car ie Oil change, Air Filter, Pollen filter etc. They all have to be reset individually through the dashboard and most indys only reset the oil one even if they have fitted other filters. It usually tells you if press the "I " button which service item is due.

If youre happy enough with the service being done right just go into maintenence info on the car(On the Jazz I think its on the audio unit if its a touch screen) and reset them all one by one.

Depending on how long they are overdue they might need to be reset using a Honda diagnostic machine though.

My honda prob left the factory in a September as that is when the spanner appears. I ignore it and wait til the usual time of getting a service done which in my case is November, the month I bought the car. You can disable it it if it annoys you but will reappear every time you start up.
