    Hey folks

The role I had for the last 5 or so years came with a company car, on their fleet policy.

I'm no longer in that position and need to get a car and insurance sorted.

How will it work when I have been "off the grid" essentially for so long, but prior to that would have had a no claims bonus ?

It won't count I'm pretty sure, was warned by my insurance company when putting my private no claims against my company policy.

You'll start with no bonus, I think this also applies if you haven't had insurance in 2yrs.

Any friends or family working with an insurance company that can help with a discount.

Are you named on the policy or were they an open drive type of policy?

Ring the insurer your employer is with and explain to them that you formerly had a NCB and only lost it due to a company car and ask for quote. I know if its with AXA they will reduce it by giving you named driver experience discount, so maybe other insurers would be similar.
