I'm looking for soundcard/speaker setup advice.

I'm starting to build a PC, something I haven't done in 15 years so I'm a little out of touch with some new hardware setups. For the sound setup I would like to have a set of small speakers beside the monitor screen for general use and a set of Samson studio monitors for listening to music. I prefer to have a physical volume knob and mute control rather than having to use the mouse in a menu everytime I want to change the levels

Basically I'm after a desktop/external/soundcard that will have a volume knob, a mute button, headphone socket and ideally a selector for one of two stereo speaker outputs.

    Does such a device exist?
