FTTH is promised from March 2022-May 2022 , so hopefully before Christmas , would like to share connection with my son who has his house around 50m away ,

Would be really grateful for any pointers on how to do this , his house is stone cottage with heavy insulation ,so don't know if a mesh system would work .

You could go for WiFi point-to-point, but ensure equipment LAN capable to 1GB or destination speed might/will be limited.

Run duct between properties if avail, so you would be able to pull cables:

    1. You will be able to run Ethernet link between to achieve full speed at destination, however, you might need extra/specific equipment to protect this link, as properties are (i guess) on independent power supply. Consult electrician. Ethernet has 100m distance limit
    2. You will be able to run fiber link between to achieve full speed at destination. This will require different extra/specific equipment(Ethernet-to-fiber adapter), but no issues with electrical part, no distance limit*

There are cables that can be buried direct, but no option to replace/upgrade. Overhead line could be an option too, but....

thanks Smuggler , will probably run fibre between the two , should be easy enough to run ducting along the connecting garden , have to do ducting anyway as the missus does not want overhead connection from the pole .
