The design won't work for everyone but a great bargain for those that don't mind the white soles. Rockport shoes are some of the most comfortable I've ever owned. I believe Adidas make the soles.

It's not a russian flag, their logo is blue over red.

what have I done. 2 pairs ordered (1 black and white was left in my size, and got a black and green too!).

JFYI, I had a pair of Rockport shoes that I got in America years ago and they were the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

Usually, they basically look like perfectly normal shoes but are made using very comfortable running shoe techniques.

I wonder are these particular ones some kind of marketing gimmick designed to show off the fusion between runner and formal shoe?

Marketing in a nutshell.

I bought these trainers/runners and threw in an impulse set of socks for €4 to make the most of the delivery fee.

Two days later I get told the runners are out of stock , cancelled, but my parcel is on its way. Socks for €4 and delivery charge of €6. Took three days of emailing to get a non generic response to my complaint. They finally refunded the shipping.

The socks came quickly. Lucky me!!!
