Travel within CTA of British Citizens living in Ireland

    Hello all.

My husband is a British Citizen and we're both living in Ireland. I hold a Philippines passport and a Stamp 4 visa. Do I need to apply for a visa to visit the UK (England) even when I am travelling with my British Citizen spouse?

Could someone direct me on the law on British Citizens, their spouses and children regarding travelling between the Common Travel Area (CTA)?

I appreciate any help on this.

The CTA only applies to British & Irish citizens. Spouses are irrelevant. There is a reciprocal visa recognition between UK & Ireland for citizens of China & India, but obviously that does not include the Philippines.

If you arrived in the UK from the Philippines directly with your British husband, what would happen? Would you require a visa? The same applies here.

As already stated the CTA only applies to British and Irish citizens and not their spouses or partners.

Philippine citizens would normally require a visa for travel to the UK.

Use the site above to confirm.
