Their excuse of an electricity black out reads suspiciously like "Miss, my camera doesn't work" during lockdown. Pathetic.

And they are only excusing the fact that they didn’t send it out the day before the holidays which in itself is a disgrace !

Absolutely! I feel nothing other than utter contempt for the Department, a feeling many of my colleagues share. It doesn't bode well for the education sector as a whole with so many teachers, principals, SNAs etc. feeling apathetic/angry/dismissed. The good will and positivity is being sucked out of the sector.

They are learning too late.....its partly that goodwill that contributes to doormat status .......people have to learn to have standards and say no from time to time for everyone's good.

Positivity in the face of being treated disrespectfully should be reassessed imo.

I agree with you to a point but it's hard not to have an element of goodwill as core particularly in relation to extracurriculars which are often influenced by individual teacher's interests and passions.

Thats fine until it is used to climb and starts to become a requirement....its unpaid labour and its expected, its asked about in interviews etc.

Absolutely and I agree with you, it's just very difficult to solve I think. Constant erosion of conditions and moral are leading to a worst case scenario of people resenting anything outside their basic role and ultimately that is at a cost to everyone in education, particularly students.

Cosying up of Dept and Unions has led to apathy amongst majority of teachers now with any 'fighters' being treated with scorn and overlooked for promotion .The future does not look bright .Not a hope there will be resistance to Leaving Cycle farce.Thank God Im out fairly soon .

An chance of posting a copy of the circular? It looks like the recipients had the whole Easter Holidays to read and digest it.
