    Hi,

If you are working in Adult Literacy through an ETB you know how unfairly we are treated by management and the Department. The unions haven't been much help so far, one of the reasons for that is that tutors are isolated from each other, not just between counties but even in one centre, and don't have a strong voice during any talks.

To that end we've set up a national group, which is already highlighting major differences between the different ETBs.

If you would like to join the first port of call is probably the (private) Facebook page. Ask to join here https://www.facebook.com/groups/1605070076365073 or pm me.

Ideally every tutor would join, but at a minimum we should have one person from every centre

It's good to see this getting attention. TUI passed a motion supporting these colleagues at congress this year. If enough members attend enough meetings and make enough noise it will get attention. because so many of these colleagues are part-time, and work across various locations they are often not union members or feel unconnected to their local branch. Any support these colleagues can be given further to be active in their local branch would be great.
