Hi guys. Anyone advise me where is a good place to park. Taking the kids to the game next weekend and haven't been to Páirc Uí Chaoimh in years.

Up around Pairc Ui rinn is probably easiest. 15/20 minute walk from there.

Games at 4, if your going in with kids no harm in being in there early and watch the warm up and what not. Plenty places for food / drink inside too. I'd probably tip away in shortly after 3.

Marquee should be open for parking. It'll fill up quick enough and early but it'll be handy. Traffic coming out of it will be a nuisance alright.

I imagine many foreigners reading the first post in this thread will be a bit confused along the lines of…

“Why is the OP asking where they should park when attending a game at a major sports stadium? Why wouldn’t they just use the ample multi-storey parking provided by the socially conscious owner of the stadium who wouldn’t want their facility to impose on local residents? Local government planners would have ensured that such parking was provided because they know that the vast majority of people drive to games, right???”

Marquee is only for pass holders.

Major cordon all around the area so the usual spots (including housing estates) won't be available. Boreenmanna Road is a good spot for parking.

Well, yeah, I chose it for good reason. But it doesn’t mean I’m wrong…

Maybe if those foreigners were American, where massive car parks are common at most large stadiums, then maybe. But in Europe it's the opposite with little or no parking but excellent public transport. In Cork though we plough a third way, no car parking and no public transport. We're unique.

Yes, agreed about the Continentals having public transport options. Better still, when I lived in Western Australia, we could drive and park OR get the train right to the stadium. For the record, I got the train :)
