Roof box

Hello. i have a 2017 Skoda superb estate and I want to get a larger roof box. The car has roof rails and I have roof bars that go across and I fit my current roof box to those. I went on halfords website and entered my reg and the site indicated that they have no roof boxes to suit my vehicle. However the one I was looking at is 6 foot long, fits to roof bars and would be well clear of the boot at the back and not overhanging the windscreen at the front ( I measured it). So I see no obvious issue as to why I couldnt use it?

Is there something I am missing?

Once you can fit it on the car its good. We have ran a fairly big roofbox 520litre (Pretty much the biggest we could get at the time) on a Skoda Octavia saloon for a good few years with no issue.

I have had the same box on a Passat and it was grand, Your Superb should be grand.

Some things to watch for: possible interference between the rear of the box and the bootlid when fully open; interference between a sunroof opening and the bottom of the box; and possibly too much front overhang causing the front of the roofbox to act as a sail with huge upward pressure on the racks - instead of pointing into the oncoming air. People tend to forget that the air above the windscreen is going upwards at a similar angle to the windscreen

Shouldn't be too hard to make sure nothing touches anything else when not supposed to.
