I've been disappointed with the quality of information I've received from guys I've spoken to about my geothermal system.

Over the years the nuts and bolts of fixing the pump and doing the regas and replacing the PCB and checking the pressures they're good at but when guys are asked about the system itself vs the size of the house, output temps, the efficiency of the system overall, (obviously I have the kW usage and house size and BER etc), if a new pump would be worth installing (it's 14 years old now), whether the circulation pump is working appropriately (it isn't) I get very vague, non-committal, non-answers. Even asking about a new thermostat seems to be a tricky one. That's obviously explictly telling them I'll pay them just to do a survey if they're interested but nobody wants to get pinned down. Which is fair enough if you don't know tbh I'd rather that than be fed bullshit at a price but I am wondering whether I should move to an air-water system instead and would like some conclusive answers in a non-sale context from someone with no skin in the game.

If anyone could recommend a genuine geothermal and heat-pump expert in the midlands or mid-west please DM me or if allowed to make recommendations here fire away. I'd like to commission a survey on it and get conclusive answers, if I have to make a change I'd rather do it now.

    Thanks.
