Renewal or New Customer? - Can this be done

    Hi,

    Might be a silly question but can't find an obvious answer.

    Quoted my renewal on my car insurance with Zurich. Decent price but wanted lower (500s). Chanced Zurich as a new customer (in the low 400s). Is there anything stopping me taking out a policy as a new customer rather than a renewal?

    I have contacted Zurich and tried to get them to match it; to no avail.
