I have a new upcoming self-build project coming up and trying to decide on main contractor of direct labour.

either way, I will have a company install the air source heating for HW cylinder and underfloor heating.

Do I legally need a plumber for the remainder of the work? installing piping and manifolds.

I do have experience plumbing just not the qualification

This might be better suited to the construction forum as there is more to it than can you do the plumbing or not. If you don't get a contractor in who is the person responsible for the entire project? Who's insurance covers the building of the home? Who signs off when home is built to say it's up to building regulations? Is this person willing to sign off on the work you have done? Are they willing to insure you to work on their building site?

I'm not up on it all myself but since 2010 or so someone has to sign off on a new building. Without this you may never be able to sell in the future. It's a legal requirement & a buyers solicitor can't let a sale go through without it as far as I know. If no one here can shed more light on on it here you should definitely go to construction forum.
