This wasn't filmed how I was expecting with a rock & roll/punk feel to it and there is some great humour in it and one hell of a great soundtrack.

However the whole rock & roll/punk feel suits how the soldiers came together to form the unit.

Jack O'Connell is a real standout as Paddy Mayne

I didn't realise two Irishmen played such a big part in the founding of the SAS.

It's fine really. Jack O'Connell is keeping me interested. It's diverted quite a bit from the book which is annoying as what happens in the book is so nuts it really didn't need to be changed for the screen.

From reading online seems like the action will shift from North Africa to the invasion of Italy in season 2.

The heroes may have less chance to go rogue in this one.

Season 2 is completely daft but it's brilliant. It works better by straying from the book. Surprised how much I'm enjoying it

Binged both seasons recently. Enjoyable stuff though I thought the Paddy Mayne character became a bit of a caricature in season 2. I like Jack O'Connell generally though and I thought Conor Swindells was very good too.
