Google Maps on Android Auto switches to night mode in two locations, every time

Bit of a weird one but my Google Maps on Android Auto switches to night/dark mode at two geographical locations, just west of Longwood, County Meath. I just had a look at Google maps on my laptop and I see that both sections where it happens are grey in colour. Anyone have any idea what's going on there?

    Google thinks it's a tunnel / dark.

That's weird. The smaller one is an under bridge, so you can kind of understand it although it's so short it hardly seems worth switching, but the larger one looks like just a mistake on Google's part.

Yeah, the one on the left is a bridge - actually two bridges beside each other, one under a railway and the other under a canal so I guess I could understand that one. The bigger one on the right side of the screengrab must just be an error though as it is very clearly open road:

You can submit feedback to Google about this, they do review the comment but it's quite slow

Done, hadn't submitted the problem before as I didn't know what the problem was :-)

Do you have auto lights on the car? If so, are the dipped headlights switching on going under these bridges with the signal going to the head unit to switch to night time mode because it's dark outside?

Headlights are off the manual type but I drive with them on all the time in any case.

There's no screen in the car for Android Auto, if that's what you're trying to describe. I've Android Auto on my phone only. No connection with the car bar Bluetooth for audio.

It was already pointed out that the issue is with Google maps itself having the aforementioned stretch of open road and the section with two over bridges marked as tunnels.
