    Hi All

just trying to ease the stress here

I booked flights for a work trip to the states via an Agent (Company work deal with)

Im flying from dub to LHR T2 and then from T5 to the US.

It appears the agent has booked 2 tickets for the each trip as I have 2 separate booking references as well as 2 links to check in.

This is causing alarm bells to ring as I am used to just used checking in once(even if multiple operators are doing the flights) and not worrying about baggage even if connecting.

I contacted the agent who responded with "there is a change of terminal in London, but you will be on a through ticket so the bags will be transferred between flights"

If that is in fact the case is it standard to have 2 separate check-in's.

Sorry if its a silly question but the 2 checkins is making me think twice, I would have just thought with a through ticket I check in once and connect to the next terminal without having check in again.

    Its Airlingus and American Airlines

    Thanks

Aer Lingus and American Airlines code share so it's possible to have 2 different PNR's. Was there a reason they booked you through the UK as opposed to benefiting from Pre-Clearance in DUB?

If you log onto each airline's website using the references provided, can you see your flights?

How long do you have between flights in LHR ?

would I still need to check in twice tho? Would baggage be sorted?

i think it’s just where I’m going, flight times were more favourable than going direct from Ireland and then connecting in the US

I know il have some time getting through customs.

il have to check the airlines and check back to you

we land in lhr T2 at 12.40 and fly out of T5 at 2.40
