I have this phone for just over a year, recently its acting up the screen flickers and then goes blank i can still receive calls but the screen remains blank, is it worth fixing? the phone cost me 90 quid, how much to fix/replace a screen?

btw - would a factory reset do the trick?

Screen flickering could point to either a proximity sensor failure or a screen issue itself.

Androids can usually run a suite of hardware tests by dialling #*#4636#*#

Try that and see if you have a proximity sensor test. Quite often, screen protectors and cases, in particular fold over cases can trigger the sensor and cause screen drop outs when using a phone in speaker mode.

but by dialing the above number - will i see the screen?

btw - i have a screen protector on it, should i take it off permanently?

If your screen is off permanently? Then no the code won't help. You need to be able to view your dialler keypad to enter.

It's very likely a screen failure. However if the screen issue starting is coincidental with applying the screen protector? Then it may well be a factor.

If the issue is screen off and not functioning, with flicker of lines, or green blocks? The screen or perhaps the screen cable is likely at fault.

no i had the screen protector on from day 1 - no issues

but now the screen comes on for 5sec it flickers and then goes blank?😕

so how much to fix? - ballpark

    Not a Scooby tbh.

It may well be just a loose ribbon connector or z-clip but I don't know how much the screen would cost but given it's an Ulefone and generally they are fairly generic partswise?

I'd expect €120 to be the max, unless it's a specific screen type that's hard to come by.

Other thing to consider, is if it's a part that needs to come from China? Massive lockdowns in ace there again particular Shanghai

You've had it less than 2 years, it's still under warranty. Just get it repaired/replaced via Amazon if that's where you bought it.
