Do I need to seal a graphite board in a Firebird Enviromax boiler?

Can anyone tell me if I need to put any type of sealant around the graphite insulation board in a Firebird Enviromax Popular.

The board is similar to the one below.

This sits between the door gasket and combustion chamber. If so what do I use to seal it?

    Thanks!

There is now a newer type board that has no graphite board, just a rubber trim.

I think that without the graphite board, the regular board will get wet and crumble.

No sealing compound needed with graphite board.
