Galaxy Windows

The windows of our 08 Ford Galaxy work sporadically. When they are working and they're already closed, if I pull the window switch up again to insure they're fully closed, there's a little 'thud' and it's like they short out for a while but then eventually start working again, sometimes after half an hour or so, other times after a day or two.

I've checked all the fuses, as many of the connectors as I can find and took out the drivers door console and checked what I could of the wiring and looms there. Even disconnected the battery for 20 minutes.

Is there any further things I can try to resolve this?
