Run power supply cable into consumer unit

I would like to wire a Ring Doorbell to a 8V chime through a relay as described here: https://www.instructables.com/UK-Ring-Video-Doorbell-Pro-Working-With-Mechanical/. My doorbell transformer is currently inside the CU. To power the Ring I need to use the plug-in power supply, which needs to be plugged into a socket. I see two options to wire all together:

    1. Add a small DIN rail relay (e.g. https://ie.rs-online.com/web/p/non-latching-relays/5111155) inside the CU, plug in the Ring power supply into a nearby socket, then run its cable back into the CU to go into the relay and the doorbell circuit
    2. Put the relay in a separate enclosure, run wires to the doorbell and chime circuits from the enclosure (similar to the linked article)

Option 1 sounds appealing to a layman like me since it doesn't need installing another box, but I do understand tampering with the CU might not be the proper way - is it in any way sensible? Any recommendations?
