Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Disposing of broken tv?

    Hi,

How can I get rid of my broken tv properly?

I don't have a car so I could only bring it somewhere close to my home in Dublin 8. I asked RecycleIT if they would collect it but apparently it's not free for individuals.

I'm aware that some peole just dump their tv next to the bins but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to do that!

    Any advice?

    Thanks!

Just check your local authority website.

That will show location of municipal recycling facility.

There is no charge for leaving in tvs.

    Thanks for the answers.

In case somebody else is interested, In the end RecycleIT contacted me again when they had a large collection to do in the area, and they collected my tv at the same time (for free).

Anything with a plug can be taken to your local council dump under the WEEE scheme.

Currys are giving €5 off a €25 purchase in store if you bring any old tech to them to recycle, might be of interest to someone.

I didn't realise that you were in the UK.

I'm not up to date with the situation in London but I have dropped off electrical items for free in Manchester.

I suppose if you want someone to call to your home to collect an item you will have to pay for that service.
