External door handle fix

So my sister is having trouble with an external door handle. I took it out and had a look. The square spindle has rounded out a bit on the connection with the handle so the handle is sagging down a bit

Easiest thing is to buy a new set at about €25-30. I think this is the model

Before I do that I was wondering if anyone knew of an easy fix on these. It might be possible to tap in a little shim to tighten up the joint but maybe someone has a better idea. It looks like it’s some kind of compression fitting between the handle and the spindle.

Sorry no photos. I’m miles away from my sister’s house now and won’t be back for a while.

I'd say it would be better to get a new handle. Contact the supplier of the door or there is a company in Dublin if I remember by the name of Universal Products if it's an older door that may supply a new handle.
