    Hey dudes

I’m hoping to study English as an Arts degree, but just wondering if ye have any advice on what subjects to study alongside it, I don’t particularly want to become a teacher(which seems to be the usual job associated with English degrees). What other jobs are there really for English degrees, and how difficult is it to work in academia?? (This would be the dream, as opposed to working as a secondary school teacher)

I think an arts degree is a waste of time, unless you want to be a teacher.

A good test for me degree wise is if it gives you a job title when you finish it.. Nurse, vet, lawyer, teacher etc etc

Where you learn a skill, the more practical the better.

Find a balance between your interests and the job market.

If you have your heart set on it... Subject wise... With English... I'd say another language would be most useful

I would advise you to study those subjects that you have an interest in.
