Headphones fault.

I have a set of headphones connected to my TV. In the last few days the speech Chanel on the headphones cut out for no reason.

I am left with the background noise, and the people speaking but no sound comes out..

If I leave them alone for an hour or so they correct themselves.?

Is there some sort of overheating going on ?

I'm running the headphones through an extension lead... TV too far away to connect direct.

I have checked the headphones direct... No problem.

I have checked the lead... No problem either..??

I'm watching a Netflix documentary on F!... Engine reving, driver's mouth going but no speech...?

    Any Ideas ?

It seems to be overheating, but I've no idea ….

    Jay
