Switchover from Airtricity

I ordered a gas and electric switchover from Airtricity to Electric Ireland through bonkers.ie on the 19th of January. Bonkers.ie states that :

“Around two to three weeks after you’ve switched, your old supplier will send you out a closing bill, which will be based on the meter reading you provided at the time of the switch.”

Airtricity however have billed me to the 28th of January and beyond the meter readings I submitted. When I queried this with them they stated that they have to wait for the final meter reads to be sent from ESB and Gas Networks Ireland before they can issue the final bill.

When I switched from Bord Gais to Airtricity in December 2020, Bord Gais issued the final bill based on the meter readings I submitted when ordering the switch. How should it be done? Are Airtricity singing from their own hymn sheet in relation to this?
