Conventional Boiler Use

    Hi Boards.ie members!

I have a question re: Conventional Boiler and how to use it properly.

I have an Ideal s18ie boiler which is a conventional one that condensates. There is a timer attached to it.

I have read up about it and it says that it's best to use it on the "E" mode which is about 68-70 degrees Co.

Should these type of boilers be on constantly and with use of Thermostat control when the central heating should turn on or should these be best used with the timer? ie. 3 times daily for 3 or 4 hours?

When the boiler is running on timer, everything is off including water so it only heats the tank when its running.

Anyone with similar setup could advice on how do you the conventional boiler properly and how do you reach best efficiency on it?

    Best Regards
