I know it's two days away, but how long more I'll be here, I dinna,, I sent in, at start of last month, msg, to tell em at Boards.ie that I want oot 🤣

    anyroad, a pick

a cliff horse here that come third lto, but were drawn low over the 5f trip,, back over C & D, and has a high (good imo draw) draw in 11, and should go close,, won't be much more than 3 or 4 to one I reckon, but to get her/thread rollin I think TANASOQ NAP win ~ 4/1 (early doors 'probable sp') has a very good chance from his 11 box in Newcastle 7.30.. In same race, with a good ride, PORFIN ~ 7/1 ew, can go very well, albeit from a poor low draw,, That January 22th run which saw Porfin come third and Tanasoq 4th, over the C & D on the same Standard to Slow going (provisionally S/Slow anyway, so will give 'clerk' of course t'benefit here ), could be the key form here (he says,, to sound 'knowledgeable' 😄😅)

Looked at three of the other main protagonists, and I'm not seeing much to worry about looking at form of Blackcurrent, Joshua R, or Amasova; and also had a cursory at rest of opposition, and I don't rate their chances too high at all,,

ETA I wouldn't put anyone off doing a reverse forecast on the two picks,,

    Gl 😋

    6.30 Newcastle

    Three picks here:

    TATHMEEN , TELL'EM NOWT , DESERT LIME

At least one of these will go very close, and I reckon it's evens about one of them winning,, The topweight Ginato could well go close, and I don't mind if he does; just so long as this serial crossbar hitter doesn't actually go onand win,,

All e/w depending on their price/s

I see Charlie hills sends one horse to southwell tomorrow. Spoof. Looked in need of its last run and should improve for it and i think il have a few bob e/w on it in the hope of at least a place.

    1.00 Carlisle

    KHAMSIN MOOR 25/1 PP ew

Looks like the jockey is related to the trainer,, McCain had another horse entered here, but Akentrick is a non runner,, going is stated as good to soft, yet Khamsin Moor has only ever run on soft and heavy going in his four runs under rules thus far,,, a potential "steamer" perhaps,,

    RICKETY GATE 10/3 gen win

expected by betting to go close, and indeed he should,, won at the track at a distance similar to tomorrow's race three runs back,, ran okay lto under a different jockey,, Mark Galligan has a handful of winners to his name, so it's fine on jockey front,,

    BRICKADANK 20/1 gen ew

Came 2nd over a similar trip at the course in October,, that was probably his best run to date,, has the joint lowest weight and I think he'll be held up to be produced late,, has first time tonguestrap to help him settle i presume,, looks a big price for this,, jockey is an unknown quantity tho, just like many of the conditionals and amateurs that take part

OK, this is to maximise stakes for the festival. Today will either be very costly or very profitable. 2 max stakes bets and 1 or 2 more.

1.35 Carlisle, barrowdale, around 5/4 I'm convinced this horse will be beaten today and max stakes lay here. They had a nice payday 9/4 sp when won lto, it might gain more experience today and win at bigger odds in the near future, but today I'm very confident it will be beaten.

3.20 Carlisle, ard chros, currently around 6/4. I've just finished backing this to win, again max stakes. Horse is in the form of its life and even with the 7lbs rise, I think it'll win here. I actually think The horse has 5 or 6lbs in hand ahead of the assessor.

Nowt really,, think the 'andicap is Ireland +/- 19.5 winners... if that were to go to +/- 20 winners, I'd be tempted to go in on the minus side,,, should get three days out of it anyway

6:00 Newcastle I really fancy the favorite Smart Connection who ran a very good second in Lingers when coming back after a break and has a peach draw, so to speak, 10/3 PP.

Sounds good that,, wonder are they doing that bet in the shops?

not sure,, will know closer to t'time,, fair few days to go yet,, tell all yer (punting) mates Ireland is a cert +19.5, and we might get a good line on us getting less than twenty 😃

been at that stage a long time j@u 🤣 there's no one else here (well, there's you and as much as ten other posters/readers on t'forum; but I mean where I'm based irl) , like what Bobby D said back in t'day 😃 will take whate'er amusement I can gets, and if that includes talking to meself on t'interweb, then so be it :)

And guess what's in my notebook? Broctune Red, of course, and I he was my first pick but then logic kicked in... and it's been last two weeks likes this 🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭j@utis

In 6:30, my notebook says Ginato and I'm not looking any further 😁

    tough ruddy game this 😕

Spoof was poor but il be keeping an eye on the horse for the near future

One more bet for me this eve is PORFIN on the 7.30 Newcastle this race is well within the grasps for thus one to win and I have backed it to win. If putting it in I would be hopeful of collecting.

    Tush

I backed both e/w even at that short odds, so only half point down but it's annoying alright. My notebook doesn't have anything good for the rest of the night, my head is wrecked after day at work and 5:30am rise and there's a cake in the fridge needing of decoration, a lot to do, off I go. Have a good night.

7.0 Newcastle, fly to glory, currently around 10/11 Can't see this horse winning here. Just finished laying it. We'll backed on debut, but seems they hand picked that race and had a nice payday. All the horses in that previous race were fully exposed. This race is a different kettle of fish, unexposed and some nice pedigrees. Quite confident the fav will be beaten here.

Goodnight, and thanks for stopping by :)

couldn't find any price leff for that,, went on oddschecker and one of them was best price evens, and t'other 11/10.. for some reason there was no mention of the number of winners what were setting t'benchmark to either exceed or not exceed,, think it's a sign t'leave off punting for t'rest of the evening and see how me two e/w singles get on in 7.30...

    HARD!
