Sky Hub and schedules for parental controls.

Just moved to Sky after a few years with Eir

Just trying to implement some sort of controls such as restricting access to the wifi from various devices at various times.

Smaller kids tablets at a certain time, older kids playstation later, different times for weekend and school holidays for example.

It was very robust with Eir but on this Sky hub it looks terrible.

Is it true that only a single schedule can be set and thus any firewall rules have to use that schedule ?

I'd there any way around it ?

I had this problem when I was with Sky. Some ISPs have granular parental controls, which is certainly a good thing. I was looking to simply create a new SSID. So one for parents which is always on, and one for kids which can be timed or just turned off.

It looks like Sky still do not offer any free parental controls, or allow for much tinkering with their routers. The discussion seems to suggest paying a extra fee for a "braodband buddy" or something like that. You can ask a more specfic question on the sky forum

    Thanks for that.

When I did google about restricting access on a Sky Hub the appearance of Sky Buddy in the results did lead me to think that it was something they were trying to supply as a subscription service, and thus limiting what could actually be done on the device.

Is the Vodafone device any better does anyone know ?

Thinking of ditching Sky within the cooling off period and going to VF.
