Hi, I am just wondering about installing a socket into the attic, I live in bungalow and I know the cables running so could I get a junction box, a 3 way and then cut a cable going to existing socket. Then wire it up? or am I taking a too simplified view?

Of course cutting all power to house first

Dont shoot the messenger, i am not a spark, but I would use the socket as the junction and not add in more cable or another joint if i could avoid it all.

No shooting will take place :-)

Bungalow so all the walls got chased to run cable down, trying to run another cables would be messy so that is why I was thinking about the above. Sparks is 100 quid so I might have to bite the bullet

You could find the last socket in a socket circuit, it'll just have one cable going down to it.

Disconnect the socket, pull that cable up (with a pull wire securely attached) to the attic and relocate it to your new socket, then pull a new 2.5 T&E cable down to the original socket to link them .

You wont need a pull wire if the is plastic wavin in the wall.
