I have had an order on a PHEV since before Christmas and still no joy on it being anywhere close to delivery.

So what's available these days in Ireland what garage can I walk into and walk away with a new PHEV within a month?

Would I be correct in saying it was a Passat or Superb PHEV?

Would you go for something like a Hyundai Tucson PHEV. A few lads on here got them within a week of ordering and are very happy with theirs.

Wife is getting that, yeah surprisingly no delay on them. Looking for something smaller. I ordered Seat Leon before xmas, no sign of it for the foreseeable future

I see Monaghan's in Galway are currently advertising a pre reg Cupra Leon PHEV. Worth giving them a call. A little over your budget.

The other option would be a Kia Xceed PHEV which I believe are available. They are well under your budget, look great but don't offer the power I suspect you might be looking for.

I know you asked about hatch backs, I am sure you looked at most of them, only other suggestion is newish 2nd hand,

My mother bought one of those from the uk 2nd hand during covid, cost was 23.5k including vrt, same car now but 60000 more miles is 31k

I'd say you will struggle, car dealers are finding to hard to get any new stock these days. The pandemic and semiconductor shortage was bad enough but now with the war in Ukraine it will be even more difficult to get cars built as Ukraine was a major supplier of car parts as well as Russia supplying aluminium and steel.

You could try a few Renault dealers to see if they have the current Megane PHEV in stock. The model itself is old now and being replaced next year so that might be your saving grace around it being overlooked by the majority of buyers.

Enquired about the Megane PHEV in December in Airside as wanted to test drive it to compare and was told they are being discontinued and all that was in stock was a 212 which was being driven by the service manager. Afaik, it came only as a Sports Tourer (estate).
