Pay as you go wifi dongle

Hi,

Any suggestions on a pay as you go wifi dongle with data on it that can be purchased in ireland.

Am going abroad for a couple of weeks and destination doesn't have wifi.

I don't want to get something where you have to keep it topped up every few weeks just need something like a 30-50GB once off purchase ( I presume this will be a dongle and sim card?).

There are two steps

1. the dongle
2. the sim card

An unlocked dongle and buying a sim car locally might well be the best plan.

Why a Dongle?

I have bought a Huawei B523 and I use that, just throw in bag. You get better reception and better wifi coverage

It should be same as a dongle, shouldn't it. Plug your sim card in and have your mcc/mnc codes ready for the provider you have chosen.

I'm not up what the landscapes like is getting favorable roaming arrangements. You could cut the question out entirely by getting a sim when your over there.

Just buy a sim....I have a holiday home and I checked on comreg for the best antenna location and picked a sim based on that. If that doesn't work then just buy the best package that works. If you plan to travel to overseas mak sure it allows for that. I spent two weeks in Spain with perfect BB using vodafone SIM and no extra charges

With the little firestick it is a perfect combination

I use my mobile phone as a hotspot and it has worked very well. If I was going to exceed the data limit I could add another sim in the phone.

I picked up a sim in vodafone they didn't have dongles so I am going to get this: Huawei E5576

Hopefully it does the trick

I went with a vodafone R219hg in the end. As the sim is vodafone might be easier with a vodafone dongle
