Ring them and you'll get a better date, they'll put you on standby list

Have a look on the website after about 11pm and you might get a closer slot. Otherwise, call them and look for a cancellation appointment. They have a very good customer service line.

I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago, if you ring the NCT line they will assist.

My NCT centre had not put up additional slots so because I rang I was then put on priority list and got my appointment in my town

as already said if you log on around midnight they usually have a few cancellations and slots will arise

Mine is due at the end of Mar. Last Dec I'd a look and none where available till the 25th of Feb, checked Greenhills/Fonthill/Deansgrange , so booked a test for the end of Feb. Was booked in for 15:00 arrived at the test centre at 14:00 and was out with a pass by 14:40. There were very few cars at the centre when I was there so it looks like they've reduced capacity or loads of people aren't turning up.

Had mine in naul and car taken for inspection within 5 mins of me arriving (that has never happened before)

Extremely quick. I was there at tea break time too

There was a steady stream of people in and out.

'Magic time' on the website is 11:30 exactly. It'd say to keep it quiet but there are more tumbleweeds around here these days than posters!

Thanks, I'll try tonight. If not I can give a call. I've tried the closest 7 centres and the earliest I could get is May.

Mine went from it's too early to book to no appointments for months in the space of a few hours. Had to get a cancellation.

Why they can't prebook appointments as NCT expire. Only a small number will reschedule them.

    Same issues every year.

Worked a treat, thanks for the tip.

Although when i checked on the dot at 23:30 nothing had changed, but by 23:38 slots had opened up.

That's good to know, thanks. Been a few years since I've had to use that trick bit I will need to do it now in the next few weeks.
