    Hi all,

Bit of a strange question. My G30 was recalled for an issue with the EGR leaking, and i brought it to Joe Duffy in August last year and they said it looked fine and didnt replace it.

However i brought my car for a service on Friday and got a Check Engine light, brought it back to my mechanic and he can see the EGR leaking.

My question is seeing as the car was recalled and checked back in August and it was fine, but now it seems that the EGR is now leaking will BMW wipe their hands clean of it as it was checked already?

There's a few thinks kinda odd about all that, but IMO it's worth asking the question.

About 2 years ago my old F10 530d had the EGR cooler checked by BMW and was given the ok as being fine and not needing replacing. About 6 months later I heard that BMW were replacing them all even on cars not showing any symptoms. I rang my local dealer and queried it with them and they confirmed that BMW were replacing them on all cars with the effected part even if not experiencing issues. I had the EGR cooler replaced under recall on my current 430d last year also when it was in for a service with them, again the car wasn't experiencing any issues.

I'd certainly be ringing your local dealer to get it sorted asap.
