Problem with Megane 1

Hi

Can any one advise on this issue please as I outline undermentioned facts.

Have a Renault Megane Mk 1 Convertable 2001 model fitted a new Stereo Pioneer DEH 420 BT about a year ago which works fine the issue is with the stalk control on the steering wheel for volume etc cant get it to work ie patch lead for same

How ever i tried a number of different patch leads from Connect 2 none have worked the iso which is the yellow square plug has (5 ) wires connected to it i have checked all connections and even removed the Dash all is connected right this particular model was in production from 1995 - 2003 known as the Mk 1 has any one any details on this issue you help would most welcome

Actually your wrong. The model you have is the mk1.5 and you would solve your problem by just putting the original Renault radio unit back into the car instead of some horrible aftermarket yoke that is not going to work with the radio stalk control.

I knew someone who had a mk 1.5 Megavan and he done the same. Some horrible aftermarket radio in it and it did not work with the stalk controls either. Just seemed stupid.

If are going to do that go buy some crappy VW or a Ford or something else Not a Renault. Then you don't need to bother connecting up the stalk controls because they have none.

I would advise perhaps taking it to an in-car entertainment specialist at this stage. They may be able to determine what you need a lot quicker and may not be as expensive as you think. Sometimes it is better to pay a professional to sort a problem than go through the heartache of trying to solve it on your own.

The issue could also be the choice of stereo, is it a branded unit or an Aldi/Lidl special?
