    had these headbangers been listened to, not only would they have killed rail in this country but they would have killed all public transport, as dispite their pretending to want buses as a solution to everything, they in their backside wanted to put up the money to make the bus work.

    I'd be very surprised if it covers its running costs, never mind paying back the capital investment. Probably worse for LUAS.

    Unfortunately the social benefits are very difficult to quantify.

    the "make money" shtick when it comes to rail is just deflection by those against a particular rail project.

    well in my experience anyway.
