Car alarm coming on when driving and remote central locking not opening door?

I drove to the shop, got out and locked the jeep using the remote central locking.

Came out from the shop, pressed the button to open and it’s like the actual locks on the door didn’t engage but the interior light came on.

Had to use the key in the door to open the jeep. Drove home with alarm screaming.

Got home and I couldn’t get out of the jeep. I had to get someone get the spare key and open it from outside with me still in the car.

Anyone have any idea what’s going on here and how I can resolve the issue?

    Thanks.

Have you tried replacing the battery in the key fob? after that, its probably the alarm electronics itself. Would require professional Alarm technician I'd guess.

Anyway, the battery replacement is a cheap way to experiment. couple of euro in Tesco. Google "your_car_make and Key Fob battery" should point you in the right direction.

Have had funny behaviour before caused by fob battery, but I would have thought it impossible to drive off with the alarm triggered.... maybe its a safety feature to prevent disabling your car at motorway speeds.

edit: I hope your car isn't still at the shops and you've driven off with someone else's 😮🤣
