Looking for Murphy Family Dublin

Hi,

I'm doing some research for a friend

Looking for the families of Kate Murphy who married John (Jack) Fitzgerald in 1902

We have that information , but are trying trace HER family (FATHER JOHN MURPHY and Mother ?) . on the record she is 20 years old and her father's name is John Murphy

They had children

Mary Florence Fitzgerald married O. Rafferty . John Joseph Fitzgerald born 1904 died 1906 , James Fitzgerald married J. Penston Kathleen Fitzgerald married T. Gill Eileen Fitzgerald MARRIED M. WOOD ? Genevieve Margaret Fitzgerald MARRIED J. HILLIARD

Christina Fitzgerald She may have died very young

Any help would be greatly appreciated . They lived in Grove Road, Hollyfield Building's and Westmoreland Park South Side of Dublin

Looks like this is Kate [spelt Cotherine] living at Church Place in 1901 with her brothers and sister-in-law Susan Kelly.

Here's the marriage in question.

A pity that Rathmines' parish records finish at 1901 on Irishgenealogy. You could try the church for their copy of the marriage which would hopefully yield the mothers' names.

Thank you , They don't mention mother's on marriage certificates . but I do have their marriage . problem is No mother and just spouse and witnesses

so result , you are at a dead end . they were very bad at recording details

Well, this is why I was suggesting contacting the church as their copy will not be the same as the civil record, which indeed did not have mothers' names at that time.

Yes, contact the Dublin Diocese and they should be able to provide you with the details of the church record of the marriage which may contain the mothers name.

James lived in terenure when he married susan kelly in 1878. There is a john murphy married maryanne carroll both from terenure in 1865, rathfarnham district. Could that be a possibility for the parents as they have sons james b sep 1867 terenure, william b jan 1875 terenure, and joseph born may 1876 terenure and Catherine b Nov 1878 in terenure. The names/ages seem to match that census record.

From looking at old maps it looks like Church Place is now called Church Gardens (on Google maps).
