    need a winner!

not 100% that the pick will get his head in front, but should go v close on form.

1.00 Huntingdon WILLIAM CODY 9/1 PP ew NB

Think this race is between William Cody, Pilsdon Pen and Doireann (3 of the top 4 in betting).. I think the 2nd fav Step To The Top ~ 7/2 wants better ground.. he's unproven at this trip over the sticks, and his good second lto was on better ground and at a shorter trip, so am happy to overlook him here. Pilsdon Pen is a short-priced fav - a bit too short @ ~ 7/4,, looks like he should be 3/1 here... Doireann might go close, but hard to see her win this race today.. Overall, and at the prices, I think William Cody is the most likely to make the frame here. His 2nd lto at Fakenham was an improvement on his three hurdles' runs before that, and it looks as though 2 1/2m on soft in this Class 5 grade should be a chance for him to open his account.. nothing wrong with his price either... so he deserveth the 'nb' ; which does nae mean there be a 'Nap' in pipeline,, 😃

    Outsider pick

LOSTNFOUND 4.05 Sedgefield 25/1 gen ew

Sometimes flatters to deceive, usually finishes down the field, does have a few placed efforts to her name though, as well as a couple of wins in total. Is a course winner as well as having a few placed efforts here. Impossible to know whether she'll 'stay' , or not, this 3m 3f trip. If the race wasn't at Sedgefield, I wouldn't bother with her. First time Cheekpieces today, and she ran okay at the course 3 runs back on soft. That was over almost a mile shorter than today however, and regardless of the trip (or price even - could just as easy be double her current odds), she does seem to put in an odd good performance at the course, and worth a few shillings with zero expectations imo..

    4.40 Sedgefield DONLADD ~ 13/2 win

Looks a decent, if not necessarily a viable alternative to the ones above him in the betting.. is only having his fourth chase start., has gone well before at similar trips, when hurdling, and ground should be fine,, if he's good enough, he may win,, can't see how he has solid 'win and place' place claims tho, but worth €1 or €2 on the nose nonetheless.. Wheelbahri @ 15/8 gen probably sets the standard here, and is deserving of his market prominence, but can't say there's anything here what has 'outstanding claims'..

    one on the flat

    3.47 Southwell MULZIM 20s Boyles/Laddies win

The only one I looked at here.. is a multiple C & D winner, goes well at this time of the year, and has even won on the 'new surface'.. worth €1 win or thereabouts at a big price...

That's all for now,, might have a decent look at Newcastle later, looks as though there might be a few winners to be had in the 5/2-7/2 bracket at the North of England course..

GL all who's speculating or thinking about it ☺️

I like the look of Lazyitis (that's what I'm suffering from a lot of lately!) in 3:47. She won well in Newcastle last time when coming back after long break, and she was beaten only by a short head by now 80 rated horse on her penultimate start last May. She's now shortened into favorite that's a pity, but I'm on regardless.

Danni California is out running again in 16:57 Southwell, PP is paying 4 places. I unsuccessfully backed her last time, and probably one more time before, so today is the payback time! Only messing, but her trainer is trying something new and it could be a recipe to a couple of bob, or another flop, but she's wearing a visor first time and is upped another 2f. She seemed to be staying well in her 10f races and might hang on there for another 2f.

    GL! And have fun!

Gluck with Danni j@u ,, looks as though staying the extra cupla fs is slightly more likely than unlikely,, very nice price too - about 14s or so..

Looked at one o the favs, and Catbird Seat ~ 5/1 would be far from a surprise winner at what looks a generous price,, form from backend of 2020, with them two back to back runs at Wolves looks grand, in the general scheme of things..

no bet (early days) and likely won't bother heading out, but I wouldn't be too worried bout the short-priced fav Chase The Dollar ~11/8.. looks the right market leader, but the race he won lto at the course was 2fs further, so, regardless of how well he won, it was over longer than today's 1 1/2m in 4.57 sth.

    thanks j@u! 😊

forgot all about it!,, was typing on here + watching snooker... had him in a lucky each way for shrapnel... no ew or win single alas, but tis better than nowt! 😋

    ah, that's a shame, leff!

Remember Clear Angel discussed here couple of weeks back? He's running in 5:30 Newcastle but that's a bit stronger race and an extra furlong to go. Interesting to watch.

True that,, even a lil win single would've covered the day + a lil profit,, that's racing tho j@u ! 😂 when confidence is low, it's no always too easy to back everything in a - 'normal' - manner ... ah well, I can laugh now,, and cry later 😓 :)

least Clear Angel is a backable price now,, on the drift, and out to 5/1 or 11/2, from ~3s early doors... does look a tough race alright,,

I see Cam has a mount in that too, but it's hard to think there won't be summit to beat the ~ 7/2 shot Abnaa in that 5.30 race,,

Danni got 4th place there,, never looked like winning, but still no damage done to her backers,,,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭j@utis

yeah, got a few penny's back, took 16/1 earlier.

good price,, dbled ur money there anyroad 🤩

A non//withdrawal in that 4.57,, hope it didn't affect t'places that nr Kells,,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭j@utis

yeah, exactly that, to cover the loser earlier lol.

My head isn't working after long day today at work and early 5am start, I'll side Hugh Taylor's pick in 5:30 Newcastle and leave it at that. I see where he's coming from and that might workout - Sainsons D'or runs well fresh, 4/1 with PP.

I'd be tempted to back Clear Angel win and each way here. Should stay, and unlikely there's more than two that will beat him,, only it were that easy 😁 wasn't swayed enough to leave the house to do it though 😄 demorilisation at nt doing that winner in a single kicking in,,

anyhoo, gluck to backers of Mrs Corbett's horse here :)

Think that was Clear Angel that finished a poor fourth there,, looks like he's not suited by 7fs,,, or maybe he could go well over that trip at somewhere with bends, like Wolves or Southwell,, hmm, might be t'opening one for t'notebook ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭j@utis

Vindobala takes that one. Sainsons D'or decided not to follow his yearly pattern, only finished poor 5th. Clear Angel remote 4th, not sure if this trip suits him.

will have an imaginary 50C ew on Ba Na Hills,, 22s here,, down in trip is interesting,, nt liking Fast and Loose in this 6 o'c

no bet but will give Nap vote to Blazing Hot @ ~11/4 for 6,30 race,, goes very well over 5f, plus Hollie's on top :)

if it weren't for Leonna I'd leave off watching racing,, that 'missed out on' 20/1 (at the time) winner has hit home just there now :(

Out again tomorrow too in the 5.55 Newcastle,, he didn't do a lot lto over C & D, so tis strange that he's back racing over 7fs,, maybe there's a few facts what need finding..... or summit 🤣
