Now TV with eir

Yesterday I changed from my normal Eir to eir Apple TV with a big dales pitch. My main concern was that I would be able to record sports from the Now TV App. I was assured I could but now having checked around I feel that's nit the case.Can anyone please verify this for me

From my understanding you can download shows for play offline, you can't actually record a live show as your own recording to then play back later.
