Taking advantage of current inflated prices of 2nd hand cars

I am hearing a lots about the lack of 2nd hand cars and their inflated prices, are there any dealers out there looking to buy? I have a 2016 530D which I could live without for a while as working from home, and there is another car in the house. Or would it be more hassle than its worth? Looking at the usual places selling my model the prices are crazy.

I know someone in a similar situation to yourself, they drove down to the nearest main dealer and had a chat, got an offer and sold them the car. You'd get more for selling it privately but if you don't need to buy right away you could hold the money

Yeah cash in by all means but expecting the market to return to 2020 levels of normalcy to buy again may leave you disappointed.

Yes with Brexit and the current supply chain shortage causing new car delays there's going to be gaps in the market for a number of years where the normal hand me downs when someone imports or gets a new car are not there.
