Do not want to go electric next year when the all new electric only Megane comes outs could do worse than checking out the new Skoda Fabia.

Whether the Fabia still counts as a small car is debatable, though. The current generation’s growth spurt is particularly evident in the interior. The old Fabia was already one of the roomiest superminis and the new one successfully defends that title. In fact, it’s spacious enough to trouble the smaller end of the segment above, offering more leg room and boot space than the Renault Mégane.

The Megane is small for the class it’s in.

We got the previous generation and I was taken aback at how small it was.

Ye Renault have a habit of doing that I suppose. The first Megane do was really well packaged for its time. It was the same with the Laguna I. The MK III was not much bigger than the II do and certainly a lot smaller than a Mondeo so that did not help it I suppose.

I think the next Megane even do it is electric only will address this do.

If you want to stay in the Renault universe then the new Sandero is a good place to look. It is wide by supermini standards, has Renault type interfaces and isn't as dreary as the last model. With LPG it is cheap to buy and run too. Otherwise look at the Renault Captur.

I agree. Both good cars. The Captur looks great now but is not cheap either.
