Not much going on today.. "The AW tracks should be okay for the horses to run on, withstanding any high winds or heavy precipitation; but the underfoot conditions, in and of themselves, may have little bearing on whether or not any racing takes place on them" this poster would opine...

Anyroad, an early pick for Lingers...

    2.00 Lingfield UTHER PENDRAGON

A C & D third from last October. Tried to make all that day plus the race was ran in a slowish time, so that's not exactly a massive 'big up' pour les chances o le sélection. Only a hopeful pick. Does have a squeak though. That October race was in a Class 5, and tis in a Class 6 that Stan Moore's charge plies his trade tomorrow. He's been running over further as of late has Uther Pendragon, and not done much, in both Southwell as well as Lingfield. Will probably try and lead, and is well housed in stall 2 to do so. Will he be good enough to make all? Is he likely to have an 'uncontested lead' ? - not too likely, as one of the paper favourites, Marie Paradis, also likes to hit the lids quick and strive forwards.... Will it be very windy up front, and therefore be detrimental to frontrunners?... who knows... will the horse be worth a bet even? Will I have an excuse to insert a 'big word' into t'thread for the lols?.. I dinna... There is, however, a gallimaufry of unknowns, which makes for a lot of speculation - not least the prices, as I can't see this race priced up yet... reckon the selection is worth a small win at 9s or bigger, and each way if at 11s or higher,...

In t'same race Mr Mac, who is one of the 'paper' favourites, has never won beyond a mile, and rarely races at further, but is not one however that can be ruled out on that basis...

Stan and Liam, the trainer and jockey of the pick, have a strike rate of 2 from 3 from last 21 days, so hopefully punters won't take note of this, so as to let t'Dragon be available at a daysint price, albeit for pennies/shrapnel/nominal stakes..

Recommendation: not a very strong fancy, so no more than €1 win or €1 ew on the selection,; unless Uther Pendragon can be backed at 14s or bigger, then he'd be worth €2 ew...

That is all and GL everyone 😊

Smashing few cards today, making up for the shockers we had earlier in the week. I kept my powder dry for today.

    Skytastic (Ascot 1.15)

    Porticello (Haydock 13.30)

    Grivetana (Wincaton 13.38)

    Treble @7/2

    Fiddlerontheroof (Ascot 14.25) - @3/1

Those two bets to kickstart the day.

Tricky affair that one in Lingers at 2pm. My eye landed on Wirraway 13/2, lightly raced, made a pleasing come back last time holding onto to it to the very end, this a much weaker race, was available at 10/1 earlier but I slept too long this morning, I haven't decided yet to back him or not.

In the opener in Lingers the one of interest is City Spirit, one of the two fillies in the race, she ran on towards the line last time chasing her well fancied stable mate, jockey is taking -3lb today, another place possibility @16/1.

You know it's going to be one of those days when Grivetana can't win a race like that.

I'm having another treble to accompany my Fiddlerontheroof single...

    Flagrant Delitiep (Wincanton 14.13)

    Fiddler (Ascot 14.25)

    Fakir Doudairies (Ascot 15.38)

    30/1

    7.30 Newcastle

2 with reasonable chances and at decent prices..

    GOOD EARTH 13/2 Lads/Boyles win , TANASOQ 17/2 PP/Lads win

I think Tathmeen 7/2 gen is vulnerable for a place here, as is one who likes (usually) to be held up, and will need plenty o luck in running

You called Tathmeen spot on. Got himself boxed in.

Came thundering home but spent too much time playing bumpers.
